Vestibular Therapy

Vestibular Therapy is the comprehensive assessment and treatment of dizziness and/or imbalance conditions. Temporomandibular/Jaw

Temporomandibular dysfunctions (TMD) or jaw disorders can cause jaw, neck, face, or headache pain. There may also be associated ear fullness or tinnitus (ringing). Infant Plagiocephaly/Torticollis

Infant torticollis occurs when muscles on one side of the neck remain contracted, resulting in a tilting of the head. Plagiocephaly is a deformity of an infant's skull, which may or may not be a result of torticollis. A comprehensive assessment can determine the most appropriate treatment for your infant.


SGI

Assessment and treatment for those who have sustained injuries in a motor vehicle accident and have an active SGI personal injury claim number.


WCB

Assessment and treatment for workers who have sustained injuries at work and have reported the work injury to WCB Saskatchewan. A date of injury and either a valid Saskatchewan health number or an active WCB claim number will be required.

Elise graduated with distinction from the University of Saskatchewan School of Physical Therapy in 1996, and the College of Physical Education in 1997.

Since becoming a Physiotherapist, Elise has worked in private practice in Saskatoon in a variety of roles. She was the manger of multidisciplinary teams, performing assessments and treatment programs for WCB, SGI, and other insurance companies. She has also taught at the School of Physical Therapy since 2008, as a sessional lecturer and lab instructor. In 2021, she received the Award of Merit for Clinical Excellence from the Saskatchewan Physiotherapy Association.

Over the years, Elise has continued to develop her skills and expertise in Vestibular therapy, helping patients with dizziness and balance issues. In 2010, she completed the competency-based Vestibular Rehabilitation course at Emory University School of Medicine. In 2016, she attended the advanced vestibular competency course at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Elise has a keen interest in treating infants and children. In 2018, she completed a course for assessment and treatment of torticollis and plagiocephaly at the children’s hospital Tufts Medical Center. She has also taken courses in cancer care, concussions, sports injuries, and musculoskeletal conditions over the years.

Amanda graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor’s degree in Physiology and a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. She received the award for the highest grade in clinical proficiency. Her research group received the award for the top research paper and was then published in the journal Physiotherapy Canada.

Amanda has continued to advance her knowledge and skills through continuing education. In 2011, she completed the competency-based Vestibular Rehabilitation course at the Emory University School of Medicine. In 2014, she attended the advanced vestibular competency course at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

In addition to her specialized training and almost 15 years of experience in assessing and treating patients with dizziness and balance problems, she also performs educational sessions for other healthcare professionals in this regard.

Amanda has always worked in a private practice setting helping her patients to recover from a variety of conditions (balance and dizziness disorders, jaw disorders, headaches/migraines, posture issues, etc.) and injuries (concussions, spinal injuries, motor vehicle accident injuries, workplace injuries, sports injuries, etc.).
